Lilly Pulitzer Spring 2012

Yesterday I was looking at the Lilly Pulitzer website for the millionth time at the spring line, deciding what I will buy as soon as it is slightly on sale.  Here are the clothes I chose; I'll do a separate post on shoes later.
First up...seersucker
I love this whole outfit.  I love the idea of mixing prints.  This is the Dusti shirt in Lilly's pink Mariposa and the mimosa skirt (it's hard to see in the pic but it is pink seersucker.)

These are the Buttercup shorts, also in pink seersucker.

Adeline dress in pink seersucker.

When I realized that I had picked three items for my "have to have" list in pink seersucker I tried to eliminate one or two, but I failed.  I think they are all so different yet so classic and wearable.  They come in other colors but I still pick these.  I have a yellow seersucker Blossom dress from last year and white seersucker shorts with sailing flags.  So really pink is what I need the most.

This isn't actually from spring but I still love it, the Rebecca sweater!
Ferra dress in call me kitty cat.  I'm not sure that I love the dress, but I love the print!
Belle top in white and callahan shorts in call me kitty cat.  I think  I might like these better than the dress; the jury is still out.
Dusti shirt again in blue.
And my favorite, the Somerset dress!
Somerset dress in bright navy cherry picker.  It is only $108 full price so it only has to be a tiny bit off for me to  justify buying it!

Somerset in navy. $98!
Somerset in resort white valley girl.  This is the one that I love the most and I will probably buy it full price if I don't get a coupon or a sale soon!

More Lilly

I have some more Lilly in my closet that I haven't worn yet but got great deals on and wanted to share.  I took the pictures with me wearing them but I had just come in from the rain so I look crazy.

I actually have worn this one.  I wore it on Valentine's Day.
I got it on my Charleston trip for like $70ish!
I got this one to wear to my cousin's wedding.
It was also around $70.
This is what the detailing looks like up close.
I got this at the New Year's Cheer sale for around $70, too.
I also bought it to wear at my cousin's wedding lol.
This one I got at Belk for super cheap.
I have no idea where I'm going to wear it.
This one is exactly the same as the last one.
$53.98 and then take an additional 40% off!!!
This is what it looks like on.
I took pictures of myself in both of them,
but I looked so terrible I couldn't use them.
This was at about 3 PM.
See how icky it was yesterday!

My shelves still aren't done but I can't complain too much because I told my husband about the blog and he can read what I write about him now.  However, he is putting a new light fixture with a fan in our bathroom which is awesome because the ceiling will probably start falling off soon if we don't get a fan soon.  And, it's really cool that he can do things like wire a light and fan without having to call someone to do it and pay a ton of money.  But, I can't wait till my shoe shelve are done because I have a ton of shoes!

EVIDENCE:

I counted about 70 pairs plus I have a bunch of sandals that are in a pull out drawer in my closet.  Also, I finally took some picutres of my closet.  All of the shoe pictures except the last one were in the closet.  It has hardwood floors but the people who lived here before us (among other questionable design projects) decided to paint them.  Apparently, you can't just paint a floor unless you use special paint and do a lot of sanding and stuff and as you can see in the pictures they did not do that.  Anyway, here are some more of the closet.  My husband pretty much made the whole thing.

My cats usually run from the camera but they were photogenic today

After the shoe shelves go up I plan on moving most of these bags to  the book shelves holding shoes now.

busy

Sunday my mom and I are going to Charleston, SC for the week.  I love Charleston!  It is my favorite place ever.  I'm trying to get my husband to find a job there so I can be on vacation all the time!  There is tons of good shopping and tons of good restaurants.

This is the Inn that my mom and I used to always stay at, but it closed for repairs
about 3-5 years ago.  It's reopened and now we're staying there for the first time since the
renovations.  My old favorite part was slanty sidewalks upstairs.  I bet they fixed them.

My favorite store, Palm Avenue
Inside of Palm Avenue

But before I go I have to work today and tomorrow from noon to 8:30 and I have to go to a baby shower for one of my co-workers after work tonight. I need to pack; the weather is going to be in the 60s so I'm not sure exactly what to take.  I have to drop my car off at the body shop to get the side mirror replaced and a small dent repaired (I have terrible car luck; my car was parked for both of those).  I need to get a key made for my friend who is baby-sitting my kitties, and I still need to spend time with my husband.

too much information

I am a terrible writer.  That's why I'm not telling anyone I actually know that I have a blog.

That's is the most important thing to know about this blog is that I cannot write.  I don't understand commas, I don't know the difference in who and whom, I'm not sure what a preposition is just that it should never end the sentence, and I am in no way eloquent.  My goal in writing (and speaking) is to communicate my ideas.

That being said I guess I should say what this blog is about.  Clothes- that's pretty much what I want to talk about.  Shoes, bags, and products are some other things that I love.  It's not really that I'm that shallow; it's just that if I talk about my job I'm breaking HIPPA laws (psych/pediatric nurse); if I talk about my relationships with people then it doesn't really matter to people who don't know them or me and since I don't intend to tell anyone I know that I'm writing a blog then no one here cares.  That's not to say that I will never talk about things that aren't related to purchases.

Anyhow, just a few things about me to set the backdrop for the things I'll talk about:
1. In 2011 I got engaged, graduated college, got my first real job, got married and moved into my house.  Adulthood hit me all at once.
2. I already said that I'm a nurse for a residential facility that is for child psych.  I love it.
3. I love stuff! I love clothes-lots of them.  TOO MUCH IS NEVER ENOUGH
4. I'm starting this blog in the middle of the night because earlier when I was reading the daily posts from the 11 blogs that I read religiously my husband said "You should write a fashion blog" and it's all I've been able to think about since then.
5. I have 2 cats who are my kids for now.  Actually, I have a cat and my husband has a crazy demon feline but I love them both.
6. My best friends are my family.  My mom and I do everything together.  I talk to her on the phone around 3 times a day and we text constantly.  My brother and I have always been friends; we never fought like other siblings I know.  He's one of the smartest people I know and I go to him with lots of questions; sometimes I feel like he is the oldest not me.  My dad is the other smartest person I know.  He is one of the most genuinely kind people I know.  My husband is amazing- he's smart and funny and nice and selfless and he teaches me things everyday without making me feel dumb.
