busy

Sunday my mom and I are going to Charleston, SC for the week.  I love Charleston!  It is my favorite place ever.  I'm trying to get my husband to find a job there so I can be on vacation all the time!  There is tons of good shopping and tons of good restaurants.

This is the Inn that my mom and I used to always stay at, but it closed for repairs
about 3-5 years ago.  It's reopened and now we're staying there for the first time since the
renovations.  My old favorite part was slanty sidewalks upstairs.  I bet they fixed them.

My favorite store, Palm Avenue

But before I go I have to work today and tomorrow from noon to 8:30 and I have to go to a baby shower for one of my co-workers after work tonight. I need to pack; the weather is going to be in the 60s so I'm not sure exactly what to take.  I have to drop my car off at the body shop to get the side mirror replaced and a small dent repaired (I have terrible car luck; my car was parked for both of those).  I need to get a key made for my friend who is baby-sitting my kitties, and I still need to spend time with my husband.

things i can't live without

I guess I should have mentioned yesterday in my first post that my style is preppy.  I love Lilly Pulitzer; it's more than that really.  I am OBSESSED with Lilly Pulitzer.

I had a Lilly Pulitzer wedding.

I have a Lilly Pulitzer bike.

I have a Lilly Pulitzer closet, but for some reason I can't find the pictures of it and it's kind of a mess right now since my husband is about to put me some new shelves in.  Anyway, if it's Lilly I have it I have all sorts of stuff with the tags still on because I have no where to wear it but it was Lilly so I bought it.

Anyway, along with Lilly there are a few other things I absolutely cannot live without.

Rainbow flip flops.  This is what that looked like when I bought them

And this is what they look like now.  I've had the same pair for 6 years and I think they are pretty much at the perfect state of worn-in right now.

My minnetonka moccasins.  How they looked new:

And now:

Ok, non-clothing things.

My robot.  His name is Rupert; my life would not be complete without him.
And my kindle!

That's all I can think of right now, but there are soooooo many more things.

too much information

I am a terrible writer.  That's why I'm not telling anyone I actually know that I have a blog.

That's is the most important thing to know about this blog is that I cannot write.  I don't understand commas, I don't know the difference in who and whom, I'm not sure what a preposition is just that it should never end the sentence, and I am in no way eloquent.  My goal in writing (and speaking) is to communicate my ideas.

That being said I guess I should say what this blog is about.  Clothes- that's pretty much what I want to talk about.  Shoes, bags, and products are some other things that I love.  It's not really that I'm that shallow; it's just that if I talk about my job I'm breaking HIPPA laws (psych/pediatric nurse); if I talk about my relationships with people then it doesn't really matter to people who don't know them or me and since I don't intend to tell anyone I know that I'm writing a blog then no one here cares.  That's not to say that I will never talk about things that aren't related to purchases.

Anyhow, just a few things about me to set the backdrop for the things I'll talk about:
1. In 2011 I got engaged, graduated college, got my first real job, got married and moved into my house.  Adulthood hit me all at once.
2. I already said that I'm a nurse for a residential facility that is for child psych.  I love it.
3. I love stuff! I love clothes-lots of them.  TOO MUCH IS NEVER ENOUGH
4. I'm starting this blog in the middle of the night because earlier when I was reading the daily posts from the 11 blogs that I read religiously my husband said "You should write a fashion blog" and it's all I've been able to think about since then.
5. I have 2 cats who are my kids for now.  Actually, I have a cat and my husband has a crazy demon feline but I love them both.
6. My best friends are my family.  My mom and I do everything together.  I talk to her on the phone around 3 times a day and we text constantly.  My brother and I have always been friends; we never fought like other siblings I know.  He's one of the smartest people I know and I go to him with lots of questions; sometimes I feel like he is the oldest not me.  My dad is the other smartest person I know.  He is one of the most genuinely kind people I know.  My husband is amazing- he's smart and funny and nice and selfless and he teaches me things everyday without making me feel dumb.
